Some pretty bold claims on this new minor version increase...

Note NONE of the 3rd party engines are newer than the previous release version the newest 3rd party binary in the installation folder is from 22nd November 2017.

This software does no conversion processes within the main executable itself but only utilise the 3rd party DLL's that have NOT been revised for a long time. Therefore unless the passed parameters to the 3rd party DLLs result in this versions "improved GPU acceleration docking tech" speed and quality improvements as well as "Improve video decoding and encoding speed." Since none of the encoding or decoding binaries have changed since before 2018 the only possible way to improve video decoding or encoding speed is to reduce quality i.e. using integer maths rather than floating point or reduced colour sampling... one does not tend to get something for nothing. The only operational binary that has changed in this program between 5.15.3 and 5.15.6 is the main GUI executable so no change in GPU acceleration algorithim implimentation is possible. The encoding and decoding codecs are identical so no improvement is possible other than any file I/O or buffering that might be handled outside the codecs by the GUI code.

This version does have several new output profile presets that some might find handy.

The download engine is not produced by Digiarty but is dynamically updated at runtime, as such if you used the previous versions download engine it would have upgraded itself if there was an updated build available to the same as offered in this version or newer if the update repository has a newer version available!

Can't deselect "Notify when new version is available" option. Default audio output was Chinese.

I can't get it to install, it just opens a page that says it's activated but there's no new folder/file on my system, tried to install it when it was first available and no luck so I waited until the afternoon to download it again in case it was a bad setup/download, still have the same problem.

Danielle, Click on the homepage link above (https://www.winxdvd.com/hd-video-converter-deluxe/) and download it from there, that one worked for me, use the same code that's in the readme file and it gets activated. Seems like a decent program but I've only tried it on a youtube video so far.

does a previous version of 'WinX HD Video Converter Deluxe' needs to be uninstalled first, or would the new installation overwrite it?

Brownisch, no it is not necesary to uninstall the previous giveaway version the installer will by default pickup the currently installed previous versions install path and start menu folders and offer the chance to manually edit them so you can have different versions installed side by side BUT if you do keep previous versions in the hopes of a fall back if this versions buggy... The new license overwrites the previous versions license key and is not valid in the older version so unless you can re-apply the old versions license key when trying to use the older version it is pointless to keep redundant previous versions. Hope that helps.
