about the MIDI comment, MIDI is not audio. I've been a beta tester for many MIDI and audio software companies since about 1992. Recording and editing audio is an entirely different thing than recording and editing MIDI data, which is basically sheet music for digital instruments. This is like complaining that the program does not allow you to record and edit musical scores. In fact, as a feature, one could reasonably expect an audio editor to handle sheet music before supporting MIDI data editing. Many of the best audio recording programs in the world have limited or no MIDI support, while others (like Pro Tools and Samplitude) have only added MIDI support in the last few years. A MIDI editor is a different product, and though many digital audio workstation softwares support MIDI, audio for video, and other features there are many times when a simple quick and small audio only editor is a handy tool. Like or dislike this one for what it is, not for what it is not.

Nice little recorder. Reasonably full featured for a mp3 style editor. Tried the text to speech - cute, but not quite Ivona text to speech yet - some of that has to do with using the default microsoft voices. Have not had the opportunity to try the noise reduction -has cassette and breath noise reduction, but no click and pop for vinyl BUT you have timing options which may work. Great for editing mp3s or home recordings. Easy install, and very easy to use. Has reverse function which seems to be great fun for kids. Lots of features, seems to be tailored for the home user - definitely a keeper.

#4 MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) files do not contain audio data, rather information intended for a digital device to use to produce a result, often music tones. It's like asking your accounting software to give you cash.
