If you don't have Microsoft Office then this is a great aternative for the Spreadsheet part of the office suite. We were given the full version of Kingsoft Office Suite Pro version back in January/February and I've not bothered transferring my copy of Microsoft Office from my old computer simply because apart from a few issues Kingsofts software is nearly as good.
The interface is very similar to Microsofts version as well.
I'll pass on this today though as I still have the Full Office suite from the previous giveaway. :)

Anything that is not fully compatible with Microsoft Office (from a small business/Medium business perspective)is just not worth using IMO. Sad but true, As MS Office is the standard worldwide, if you use something else that isn't totally compatible in nearly every way with your client's software then it's totally useless I have found (the hard way). If you just want it for your home computer account then that's fine. Just sayin ;-)

For general use (97% of home users), why not. Overall, it's a good product. But you cannot use VBA macros, including .XLA files.
The advantage of Kingsoft products is they function like M$ ones; and you can install only what interests you. The very good: no ribbon if you hate it like I do.
Free alternatives are OpenOffice and LibreOffice, but these have taken paths not really towards lightness, simplicity and efficiency; moreover, they mimic some of the best irritating MS Office flaws, and you must install the whole 300+ MB suite. Then, in those office suites, VBA is useless; aggravating, macro programming is a PITA: no or very poor, if any, documentation; no macro recording.
About the price tag (today's exchange rates: GBP/USD = 1.57). Kingsoft Spreadsheet Professional is £19 or $29.82, when the Standard is £12 or $18.84. Thus, the real give away is $19.95 (psychological price tag).
Or they should have given away the Professional version if they really wanted us to save $29.95. LOL.

Beware: The free version overwrites the standard version> I got the standard version writer for free on GAOTD a while ago and liked it so seeing this I thought the only one I don't have is the publisher so I decided to take this and install the publisher by installing Kingsoft office free. Well the office free said my writer was an older version and uninstalled it without giving me a chance to intervene. I suppose I should not complain about loosing something I got free but I would like to ask the publisher to give people a chance to stop their free version uninstalling the better version.
