There is a portable edition of this that is downloadable from their site as a download option... the giveaway license works with the portable edition.

Intially this looks quite useless just a registered or not tool. But if you right click on the domain entry it offers some additional functions. An interesting one is Domain Value Apprasial which uses tr.godaddy.com apprasial service

For English language appraisals you can edit the URL in your browser by changing the tr. to uk. thus:

It also has context menu option of doing an Alexa.com info lookup in default browser:

There is a simple generic whois lookup that is a little weak in that it only does the intial whois lookup that provides very little information, it does not give the option to dig down to the registrars own whois server that should reveal alot more information like registrant name or privacy service they have chosen to use for the domains registrant contact details.

The program does provide a simple control string based and character based domain name generator for speculative lookups to try and find a usable possibly available domain to buy/create.

TK, just installed the giveaway installer and by default it installs into the logged in users %APPDATA% heirachy rather than the correct Program Files heirachy, presumably due to the fact that it is storing its modifiable data files and settings.ini in teh same folder as the program domain.exe rather than putting domain.exe and uninstaller executable and data file in the Program Files heirachy and accessing settings.ini and tlds.txt and servers.txt in %APPDATA%\VOVSOFT\Domain Checker\settings.ini and so on. If you want to have it install into the Program Files heirachy you will need to use Run As Administrator on the setup.exe as it is not configured to request elevated installer rights. And to save any settings changes the domain.exe would need to be run as an adminstrator too. The program was designed for XP and earlier operating systems and is not compatible with the protected location virtualisation introduced in Vista and still used in Win10 as a work around for badly designed programs built to fit the winodws 95/98 security model. (everyone runs as an administrator)

It is for very professional people where the big amount of domains are used by them.
Because if you buy a domain and a web hosting from any providers, there is a ready similar utility for researching domain name on their websites.
So for 1,2,3 domains it is not needed. For professional work it is good.
