Also this software is not the latest built.
Upon start the software comes with the message, that there is a major update to version 15. This version today is from August 2013.

This program only makes sense, if you code yourself in (X)HTML, use CSS, or ...
For those, who are hard coder like me (I speak HTML since the last century) it has some use.
Upon start a rather complex interface opens, you should know, what HTML or CSS is. Under the many options, locate your language for correct spell checking:

The companies want to present their software and sell the real thing. This old standard version is missing the batch mode. This simply means:
If you want to check a Web page with some hundred files, you have to check some hundred files manually. I use such a tool for eBook validation (even if Sigil has a built in validator - and there are online CSS and HTML checkers), but with this standard version if would have to check each of the 20, 30 HTML and CSS files, which make an eBook.

Most useful, the coder know why:

The template tool is capable of saving an HTML author from spending a tremendous amount of time making the same changes to many HTML files. Does, what it claims - the program has a long history track. Did not find a change log between the current version 15.04 from May 2015 and today's version 12.03 from August 2013. The above mentioned price tag $69 is obsolete for such an older version. I would feel been tricked by this price...

Uninstalled via reboot.

I have used the paid version for over five years, and I have purchased all the updates. It is a top notch piece of software. I use it to validate all the html pages I create. It finds errors that I would not notice without it. Most of the time they are small errors, but occasionally it's a big one. It's very good at pointing out the exact location of the error. When it is a mismatched tag, it knows it, but you have to still do some work to locate and fix the error. The programmer is the publisher, so he stays on top of it. There are many updates... but even the older versions were extremely useful. Highly recommend it. Even a two-year old version is way ahead of the online checkers.

I don't sell web site development any longer. At the beginning, I was using HTML-Kit (among many other HTML/PHP editors/IDE), which includes the excellent tidy.exe to check the pages, alongside with W3C validators. I think I tried this software too but it wasn't as good as HTML-Kit, and not free. That were the days.

Nowadays, the point is not in coding the HTML but writing CSS that works with or without jquery or else. Besides, nobody writes a full page by hand, it's generated with PHP (most CMS), perl (some CMS), python (Zope, Django). Whether you deploy a CMS or develop a web application (e.g. Odoo), you'll have to deal with the API (functionality) more than with HTML (structure and semantics) and CSS (visual and aural).

Even though your code is grammatically correct, it doesn't mean your app/site will work as intended. This is the main limitation of programs like "CSE HTML Validator Standard 12.03". Web developement is moving very fast, it's hard to keep pace (story: http://www.funnyant.com/reactjs-what-is-it/). By not targeting the seasoned web developers (no BatchWizard), I wonder who will use it. Maybe I'll download it later on...
